PETALING JAYA: A video posted on YouTube of the demonstration early Sunday by student activists of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) shows chaotic scenes as police try to disperse the group.
However, the recording does not show any of the students, who were involved in the demonstration calling for academic freedom, being attacked by the police.
Opposition politicians and the activists have claimed that several students were allegedly beaten up and arrested after refusing to disperse.
Police have denied allegations of violence.
Chef Wan closes Facebook account

CELEBRITY Chef Wan has closed his Facebook account after experiencing backlash from some quarters following his comments as a juror on Astro‘s Maharaja Lawak Mega.
Kosmo! reported that Chef Wan, whose real name is Datuk Redzuawan Ismail, said his Chef Wan Fan Club had become an avenue for some people to ridicule him.
“The purpose of me setting up the Chef Wan Fan Club on Facebook four months ago was to share my experiences and views with my fans,” he said, adding that the page had attracted more than 80,000 fans.
“However, what I have seen is that it has become a source for spewing jealousy, backstabbing and kutuk-mengutuk (condemnation), especially towards me. That is why I feel it is better that I just close my Facebook account,” he said.
Among the negative comments on the site included “Jangan jatuhkan maruah orang lain … hati busuk!!! (Don’t crush other people’s dignity … rotten-hearted!!!)”. (more…)
Lean trainees expected once weight loss programme implemented

KUCHING: The next batch of national service (NS) trainees who are obese may undergo physical training to help them shed off those extra kilos.
NS Training Council chairman Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe said the NS Training Department was still working on a weight loss programme sub-module and it could be ready in a few months.
“We noticed that some trainees are overweight and we would like them to lead a healthy life. If the new sub-module is ready, we can implement it for the next batch of trainees in April,” he told reporters after sending off the first batch of trainees for this year at the Civic Centre here yesterday.
Dr Tiki said this year, the department would go all out to help trainees with reading and writing problems as some had actually left school without completing Form Five.
He said on average, between 3% and 5% of trainees at the 82 camps nationwide had such problems.
“At one time, there was a camp with 10% of the trainees who could not read and write properly.” (more…)

cuti christmas minggu lepas, kitorang (aku dan kak nor) pergi ke Suria KLCC.. aku pergi ke Suria KLCC sebab haritu aku ada share kempen Says.my atau Churp-churp, tak tahu yang mana satu.. dia kata macam ada event je.. aku pun decide la nak pergi sana hujung minggu tu sebab bosan duk kat rumah. Pagi tu aku terus call kak nor. Pukul 7-8 pagi.. mula-mula dia tak angkat, tapi aku keep calling dia sebab desperate sangat. 
pastu, dia pun angkat la.. dia cakap ok je, tapi lambat sikit la sebab dia baru bangun.. pukul 9 dah time tu.. tet tet tet.. biasalah hujung minggu kan.. :D

keadaan Suria KLCC pukul 10.30 pagi
aku sampai kat sana awal gila.. pukul 10.15 kot.. suria KLCC bukak pukul 10.00 pagi-10.00 malam.. nak tergelak pun ada.. traffik masa tu sangat takda orang.. dari tingkat bawah hingga tingkat atas aku jalan sorang, sambil tunggu kak nor sampai.. siryes, aku rasa aku tawaf 2 kali kot suria klcc tu.. semua pintu aku masuk.. sampai lah satu ketika, aku rasa macam semua orang dah dapat detect aku jalan semata-mata nak habiskan masa. Namun, rokok kini bukan lagi menjadi hak eksklusif untuk lelaki saja kerana semakin ramai golongan wanita dikaitkan dengan ketagihan nikotin selaras dengan perkembangan pesat dunia tanpa sempadan mahupun aliran arus kemodenan.
